On March 28, 2016, detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) conducted an investigation that involved the arrest of two Marquette County residents for conspiracy to manufacture meth. Detectives were alerted that the suspects had just purchased components used to manufacture meth and contacted the Marquette City Police Department, who conducted a traffic stop on the suspects’ vehicle. A search of the suspects and their vehicle produced components used to manufacture meth. Both suspects were lodged at the Marquette County Jail. The names of the suspects have not yet been released pending arraignment. UPSET was assisted by the Marquette City Police Department.
